The Human Rights Cinema Society is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to advance the cause of human rights through film.

"The Profit," a dark comedy about a man who creates a "thought reform" or "brainwashing" cult is the HRCS's first film project.

The technology of "thought reform" has been used by the communist Chinese to brainwash their captives, by the Islamic fundamentalist cults to program suicide bombers, and by "therapy cults," such as described in "The Profit." For further information on thought reform, please see:
